{Cosplay} The Eleventh Doctor - Halloween

Happy Halloween Everybody!

My cousin's birthday was a week ago and since it's so close to Halloween, everyone wore costumes. I decided to dress as the Eleventh Doctor of the Doctor Who series.
I know I pose awfully, but I really wanted to share something Halloween themed for the day.
My outfit looks pretty ordinary if it weren't for the oversized fez and sonic screwdriver, it would have looked like I didn't dress up at all! Sadly I didn't have a proper bowtie (forgot it in SF and came straight from work), and was only able to clip a ribbon in. I did take the photo booth bow though!
My whole cosplay is all store bought, so here's a run-down:
Fez: Hot Topic
Blazer: H&M
Top: Merona - Target
Jeans: Forever 21
Shoes: Payless

Have a great Halloween!

September/October Beauty Buys

Here all all my beauty buys for September and October!

I got more Biore Nose Strips and I decided to try out this Freeman Anti-Stress Mask. Reviews to come :]

I got more masks from Ichiban Kan and saw a coil hair removal item and decided that I'll try it out. I'm kind of scared though! Haha!

The next two items are actually freebies because I won the Smashbox primer on their FB. And the Jo Malone fragrance was a giveaway when you send a digital peony on their website.

The freebie is half the size of mine! Mine's actually not the full size version either. I purchased it at the Sephora counter area.

The packaging was so lovely. It was quite wasteful to send that tiny bottle in a big box and to insert so much tissue, but it did seem very luxurious.

Origins was having a special where every purchase came with a box of deluxe samples. I bought the tinted moisturizer though.

I was actually just looking for eye cream when I bought this 3-step set. I saw that the eye cream by itself (same amount oz) was half the price of this set and I was already thinking of getting a night moisturizer as well which would have been the price of the set, so I decided to get it.

Please let me know if you'd like a review on any of these items in the comments below :]

September/October Fashion Buys

Too much shopping for me? Maybe...
Columbus Day Weekend had so many sales, it was too hard not to shop.

I bought these two solid sweaters from Old Navy. I actually also bought plain black v-neck long sleeves and a belt (both purely for utilitarian purposes such as work, so I decided not to picture them here, but I can if anyone's actually interested).

I bought everything else from Forever 21. Four tops and five dresses. All pretty summer-y, but I think I can work them into my fall/winter wardrobe :)

I plan on using this under sweaters for a nice pop of color this fall.

I love love love this top! Also to be used under sweaters this fall. I love nautical themes, so I love the anchors! I didn't have chambray anything, so I've very excited to have this now. I one day want a plain chambray button up with long sleeves and a chambray dress.

Isn't this tank awesome? I got it to amuse my boyfriend. He's into reading superhero comics (not just Marvel). Anyways, he's totally my superhero ;]

I really only noticed the sale when I saw this window pane pattern blouse. I snatched it immediately. I later was lucky enough to find a dress with the same pattern in my size! I've been loving this trendy pattern ever since I saw Michaela Conlin wearing a blouse with it on Bones.

I'm so happy to have some pink dresses in my wardrobe now! I always seem to get in the mood for a super girly pink outfit whenever I want to wear a dress recently, however all of my dresses are black or blue.

I guess since I bought two pink dresses I had to add one more blue and one more black one! I'm pretty excited for this dress though since I think I'll be able to wear it a lot this fall and winter. I think it'd be great with leggings and boots. With a sweater and/or cardigan for fall, then a sweater and jacket for winter!

This maxi dress is pretty out of my comfort zone and I'm not sure if I want to keep it. It has a faux leather bodice and really thin spaghetti straps. It's actually even a little too long. I bought it though and I may wear it for a Halloween costume, but I'm still not sure.

Speaking of Halloween, what will you be dressing as this year?

Poshmark Finds #4

So, more Poshmark purchases! First off is @nugget_love.

@nugget_love was actually one of the first closets I encountered when I first began on Poshmark. Also, the first closet with an item I actually had an interest in. Unfortunately it wasn't my size, but she was great to communicate and she seemed so genuine I hoped to purchase from her one day and now I have!

I bought these three Target dresses from her. Two Kate Young and One Jason Wu (NWT!) They were all my size and it was awesome! I was also able to puchase these during a free shipping weekend special from Poshmark. I love all the dresses and am excited to wear them, unfortunately though the black one doesn't suit my body, so it's up for sale in my closet.

I actually have the black version of this Jason Wu pearl neckline dress in a size 4 if anyone is interested, let me know below in the comments or shoot me an email :)
@nugget_love even included this cute gold chain necklace.

The ring is actually from my order with @shooby_loopsie which she included for free :)

I wanted to order this beautiful floral wrap dress from her and ended up also purchasing a green maxi skirt (not pictured, need to add sorry >.<) too! Both awesome items I'm very excited to wear!

I actually got such a vintage vibe from it that I wanted that 50's bust sillouette to pair with it that I bought this from @anjulie

It really gives out that conical bust shape, but I don't fill it out unfortunately. I think I may have the wrong size. I may just add padding when I do wear it, until I get the correct size for vintage style under clothing. I've been wanting to dress in a more vintage way, so you may see that in future OOTDs.

Last, but not least, I purchased this The Limited blazer from @emilydurrett. It's actually a size too big, but I wasn't sure of my size when I purchased. I found out when I visited a store and tried on a few blazer styles. The fit is fine though :)

All of these 4 sellers were wonderful to work with and I definitely recommend them if you shop on Poshmark

{Event} Steinhart Aquarium's 90th Anniversary

California's Academy of Sciences holds a Night Life event every Thursday and on September 26, they had a Roaring 20's theme in honor of the Steinhart Aquarium's 90th Anniversary.

They had a table with pictures of the old aquarium and also the skulls of the animals that lived there when it first opened. There were people there watching the table making sure nobody touches the skulls and also answering any questions.

There were so many things to see. There were live animals, statues, and displays. I would recommend attending a Night Life to everybody! Especially if you love museums. You get to explore the museum after regular hours for a cheaper price too! They also have stations where you can buy alcohol (Night Life is a 21+ only event). They had special drinks

There was even a craft table at this event where people could make head pieces for their 20's outfit. There's even a lab area. If you see the corner of the bottom photo it says "Not a public area Real scientists at work"

My wonderful boyfriend drove 2 hours to get me here :]

My Outfit Rundown:
Dress: Soprano Soprano Soprano (For sale HERE)
Coat: Target
Cardigan: Audrey & Grace
Shoes: Payless

SF Station even took our photo and put it on their site!

{OOTD} Birthday 2012 #throwbackthursday

Some old pictures from my birthday last year in 2012. I have quite a few of these mirror shots that I never posted anywhere. I decided it'd be kind of fun to add in with my OOTDs since I haven't been posting any really. Super purikuri style decorated. If you're wondering, I used the Line Camera app to decorate.

I take a whole bunch of pictures that never get uploaded anywhere. Then I randomly decide to edit/decorate a few when I'm bored on my phone.

Everything's old so, they're not sold anymore, but here's the outfit rundown:

Dress: Forever 21
Cardigan: Target
Necklace: Claire's
Shoes: Forever 21

{DIY} From Birchbox Boxes to Drawers // Organization

When you have a Birchbox subscription, you get a pretty cardboard box that all of your samples come in.

What I did was I found a shoebox that fit all 6 box halves and cut it so there would be three each would fit. (One side is larger than the other since the box halves aren't all the same size since it's top and bottom) With the shipping box, I cut out strips to hold each drawer up with and then a bigger piece to cover the bottom. I first put it together with a hot glue gun and then I taped it with masking tape to reinforce it.

There's plenty of other tutorials on youtube and on other blog sites though. You can always just search it up. I watched and read a few a long while ago and just winged it when I made this.

As you can see, I use it to store my make-up. There's a drawer each for overall face items, eye-liners/mascaras, blush/bronzers, lip gloss/lip stick, and two for eye shadows. I keep these drawers inside one dresser drawer with the rest of my make up things, jewelry, and hair supplies.

{Movie} The Woman in Black

Okay, so this is a bit of a cop-out post and I missed last Thursday's post as well. Sorrt, I've just gotten so busy :(

Anyways, my boyfriend and I tend to try and dress up to watch movies. Especially, when we go to special screenings because sometimes they let you go to the front of the line. This is what I wore to a screening of The Woman in Black. It was January 31 of last year.

This was the best screening I've been to because they had activities like face painting, guess how many in the jar, and they gave away black veils to everyone in attendance. Most screenings are just the movie. Many people arrived wearing all black because they advertised that they'd get in first. My boyfriend came in a suit and I wore my Bodyline corset bustle-like skirt. It made us look more period appropriate for the movie, so they really let us go to the front!
