Pier 39 and Ice Cream

Another 'should have been posted earlier' post from 2011. My boyfriend and I went to hang out at Pier 39 again. We tend to go here when we want to hang out because he loves the ocean so much.

First we ate some ice cream at the Dreyer's there. I wish I could remember what flavors these are. I always try to choose something new unless I'm really craving a certain flavor (like chocolate). My boyfriend tends to like sherbet types.

We went behind the building away from the crowds to eat our ice cream and saw this old sign!

There were bar style seats overlooking this:

I played with the color contrast to make it look super blue. Tee Hee.

We saw some strange birds though. That shorter, darker bird kept following the seagull and squawking at it. I remember taking a video of it, so maybe I'll post it when I find it. Unless I forget...

I decided to take a picture in front of Hard Rock Cafe because I like how they have giant guitars. I can't remember if we ate there that day or not. My boyfriend really likes eating there, but me, not so much. I'm not big on burgers, but the foods are still pretty yummy.

I guess this could be considered an outfit post as well. It is from September 9, 2011.

Pottermore

Sorry for the lack of blog posts./updates. I recently got back into Pottermore. If you don't know what it is, it is a website J.K. Rowling created for Harry Potter fans to re-experience the wizarding world in a whole new way. Visitors become wizards and witches themselves. They become Hogwarts students and get sorted into a house. The set-up is pages with back and forth arrows. It is kind of like going through a book, re-reading the story of Harry Potter. Right now only the first book is out and a couple chapters of the second though. On each page on searches for items to collect which lead to extra readings that allow fans to find out more about the wizarding world than the books and movies let on.

I was lucky enough to be on of the first groups of beta testers and joined on August 1st of 2011. I heard from other people online that it was very quick to go through and they quickly ran out of things to do, so I decided to take it slowly. Before my muggle school started, I stopped at chapter 8. Muggle school kept me busy and I had (sadly) forgotten about Pottermore until recently. I have finally finished the first book! I totally stopped at chapter 8 because I couldn't brew a potion correctly at all! Now, that I have learned, I'm excited to brew more potions. I haven't dueled yet, but I am very much nervous to do so!

I understand why people were bored after finishing the first book. The only things left after finishing the reading were brewing potions and dueling (or re-reading). I can see how it gets repetitive after a while. I am currently re-reading everything and haven't started Chamber of Secrets yet. It's still very exciting to me, since there's so much more to do. There are tons of potions I haven't brewed (although they can be very frustrating) and I am still so afraid of dueling!

If you play on Pottermore or soon will, let me know your username and we can be friends!
I am Thornspell77 and I am a Hufflepuff!!!! I always knew! (I'm super duper happy about it!)

**Also, I have been all sad recently because I couldn't meet Hello Kitty at Yougurtland this past Tuesday. (I had a dentist appointment.) See here if you'd like to see photos from the Official Hello Kitty Blog.
