Currently Watching: The Walking Dead/Doctor Who

My oh my, who is full? I hope you had a great Thanksgiving or Thursday. I am actually hungry right now.
Anyways, with my Friday off of school and no plans for Black Friday shopping, I decided to catch up on a lot of watching.  All while working on an essay (side note: why is it that when breaks roll around, teachers assume you have all the free time in the world now and assign more work?) I have actually been watching a lot since last I posted my Currently Watching page, but today Friday was just The Walking Dead and Doctor Who.
Well here's the update:
  • Doctor Who
    • Specials  Finally watched Planet of the Dead
    • Series 5   added 10,11,12,13 meaning 13/13!
    • Series 6   14/14
    • Series 7     1,2, half of 3, and 5 --> Angels Take Manhattan was actually my first episode >.<
  • Gossip Girl
    • Season 5 added 12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24 meaning 24/24!
    • Season 6  1,2,3
  • The Walking Dead
    • Season 2 Rewatched half, then watched the last 3 episodes where I had left off, so 13/13!
    • Season 3 Skipped the first 2 episodes because they weren't on demand, so 3,4,5,6
      All caught up! I will watch those first 2 eventually...
Commentary:
  • Doctor Who
    • It is a really good series. I am somehow still not loving the 11th Doctor. The episodes with him seem a lot darker and I think I'm too scared maybe. I thought I'd get used to him like I did the 10th, but it still hasn't sunk in. I know they say that you never forget your first Doctor and although my first episode was with the 11th, I still consider the 9th my first. I miss him. His time was too short. 13 episodes is simply not enough. I did really really really enjoy the 10th Doctor though. The 10th Doctor was like the face of Doctor Who for me because of Tumblr though. I miss him a lot too. 
  • Glee
    • I am hearing awesome things about the latest episode. I need to catch up. But... sadly I'm getting kind of bored.
  • Gossip Girl
    • I really am getting quite bored, but I want to finish what I started. Haha. I started watching my first semester of college. I wonder if I will stop when I graduate.... Very soon, very soon... I hope it doesn't continue after I graduate. Is that bad of me?
  • The Walking Dead
    • Super want to watch the 1st two episodes of season 3!!! I spoiled everything for myself by reading, but it's fine because I still get surprised >.< Why am I like that?
I may start Sherlock very soon...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Because today is the 4th Thursday in November, I would like to wish all of you wonderful bloggers and blog readers a Happy Thanksgiving! If you do not celebrate Thanksgiving, well then a Happy Thursday to you!

Being thankful is always a good thing to be though, not just certain days in a year.

I don't mean to tell anyone how to live their life. I just wanted to have a space to write down my feelings, so I thank you for that!

I just want to remind myself here that I have so much to be thankful for. I have a loving family, good friends, and love in my life. I have a roof over my head, clothes on my back, and a soon to come Thanksgiving feast!
Life is precious and that is why our time on earth is precious, so I should be thankful each day I wake up and spend my days living life with love.

I am a horrible blogger

I know, I know, I keep apologizing for my lack of posting, and saying that I will post more and that I will stop apologizing. There is just so little time! Honestly, I am barely on the computer. I still have no idea what type of blogger I am, nor where my blog is going. I am going to try my very hardest to get back on blogging. I am currently home for the Thanksgiving holiday and have a bit more time on my hands.

Pier 39 and Ice Cream


Another 'should have been posted earlier' post from 2011. My boyfriend and I went to hang out at Pier 39 again. We tend to go here when we want to hang out because he loves the ocean so much.


First we ate some ice cream at the Dreyer's there. I wish I could remember what flavors these are. I always try to choose something new unless I'm really craving a certain flavor (like chocolate). My boyfriend tends to like sherbet types.


We went behind the building away from the crowds to eat our ice cream and saw this old sign!


There were bar style seats overlooking this:


I played with the color contrast to make it look super blue. Tee Hee.


We saw some strange birds though. That shorter, darker bird kept following the seagull and squawking at it. I remember taking a video of it, so maybe I'll post it when I find it. Unless I forget...


I decided to take a picture in front of Hard Rock Cafe because I like how they have giant guitars. I can't remember if we ate there that day or not. My boyfriend really likes eating there, but me, not so much. I'm not big on burgers, but the foods are still pretty yummy.

Pottermore


Sorry for the lack of blog posts./updates. I recently got back into Pottermore. If you don't know what it is, it is a website J.K. Rowling created for Harry Potter fans to re-experience the wizarding world in a whole new way. Visitors become wizards and witches themselves. They become Hogwarts students and get sorted into a house. The set-up is pages with back and forth arrows. It is kind of like going through a book, re-reading the story of Harry Potter. Right now only the first book is out and a couple chapters of the second though. On each page on searches for items to collect which lead to extra readings that allow fans to find out more about the wizarding world than the books and movies let on.

I was lucky enough to be on of the first groups of beta testers and joined on August 1st of 2011. I heard from other people online that it was very quick to go through and they quickly ran out of things to do, so I decided to take it slowly. Before my muggle school started, I stopped at chapter 8. Muggle school kept me busy and I had (sadly) forgotten about Pottermore until recently. I have finally finished the first book! I totally stopped at chapter 8 because I couldn't brew a potion correctly at all! Now, that I have learned, I'm excited to brew more potions. I haven't dueled yet, but I am very much nervous to do so!

I understand why people were bored after finishing the first book. The only things left after finishing the reading were brewing potions and dueling (or re-reading). I can see how it gets repetitive after a while. I am currently re-reading everything and haven't started Chamber of Secrets yet. It's still very exciting to me, since there's so much more to do. There are tons of potions I haven't brewed (although they can be very frustrating) and I am still so afraid of dueling!

Hello Kitty at Yogurtland with Outfit Post-ish


Last year, my sister, her bf, and I went to yogurtland upon my request. I kind of collect those cute, colorful yogurt spoons (I'll show you all my collection sometime). They were having a Hello Kitty collaboration and I just had to have some Hello Kitty spoons!

My unattractive yogurt... Somewhat melted, but very chocolate-y!

I love these yogurtland collabs because I can always get a cute character spoon out of it. I loved the Tokidoki collabs too. The cups always get a cute new look too. It never fails to keep me entertained.

I'm just wearing my favorite pair of dark wash jeans, Mossimo v-neck, and a yellow/white stripes crop cardi from Wet Seal. For my accessories, I have on an owl necklace I borrowed from my sister (it's probably from Forever 21), a bracelet I borrowed from my mom (no idea where it's from), and a transforming backpack/messenger bag from Forever 21 (that's hidden behind me). I can't stop using it, everyone should have a transforming bag. It makes life so much easier when my one shoulder gets tired. It's perfect for students because it's big enough for notebooks.

The collab is happening again this year. Here's the info about it on the Hello Kitty Official Blog. New spoons will feature Hello Kitty, Tuxedosam, Little Twin Stars, and Badtz-maru.

Outfit Post: Playing at the Beach

So, I found a ton of old pictures from times when I stopped blogging. Since I have no new pictures, I shall be uploading many of my old ones. This was when my family attended a baby shower at a park somewhere in or near San Francisco. I am not quite sure what this place is. I actually have a bunch of pictures of my mom, sister, and I running around taking jumping pictures and being silly here. Hence, my hair is a mess!


These are from June 23, 2011. Over a year ago!
Anyways, this is just a simple outfit with pretty much basic pieces. The jeans are Old Navy and the boots are Jessica Simpson from Macy's. I actually don't have that blue long-sleeve anymore because I just never much liked wearing it. I don't even remember what the brand is. I wear those boots all the time though!



Yea... we took a lot of silly pictures that day.

DIY: Pin Trading Case

Remember my recent blogging absence? Yes? I went to Disneyland! This trip, I wanted a nice case for my pin trading. Instead of buying one, I decided to make my own! This was result! Finished and taken the night before I left for So-Cal. 

I learned about Disney Pin Trading my last trip (before this one) and I am hooked! If you don't know about it, let me explain a bit. Disney sells special pins that can be traded in Disney parks. Most people wear them on lanyards around their necks. Disney park visitors can trade their pins with Disney cast members who hold pins. You just have to keep a look out for the Disney cast member's lanyards. I think that less cast members have lanyards in the summer because it's their busy season. I think it's so that they can keep an eye out better. That is only what I think though. You can also trade with other park guests, but both parties must be in agreement. Trading with cast members is much easier because you can take any pin you want from them and give them any pin you want.

So, here's how I made it. 
Equipment needed: 
  • Empty and Cute CD case.
  • Strap
  • Felt
  • Sewing Needle/Thread
  • Duck Tape
  • Scissors 

1. First cut out a piece of felt big enough to cover one CD slip
See, the felt is folded over the CD Slip
2. Get a piece of dick tape to stick the felt onto the CD slip (on the part nearest to the binding)




3. Sew the sides shut so that the CD slip is no longer showing





4. Continue Steps 1 through 3 on each CD slip. Be careful not to overfill the CD Case as there still needs to be some room for pins. Make sure you can still zip closed the case with the felt covered slips. You may want to leave uncovered slips or to cut them out so that it is not over filled.
For reference, my case originally had 12 slips which I could cover, but I only covered 6 because it became so full.

5. Now you sew on the strap. If your case is made out of a different material you may need to hot glue it in or possibly fabric glue.






6. And finally, you can add your beautiful pins!

I love Cameos and I still want to collect more of this set! According to the back, there are 2 more!

These are my favorite! They're from the Disney Cruise Line, but I collected them from trading! One day I'll go on a Disney Cruise though!

 7. (Optional) Make a pocket and sew or glue it onto the front inside cover of the case. You can use it to hold extra pin backings or whatever else you want. Let me know if you want instructions on how to make a pocket! You could even decorate the outside of the case if you want! I wanted to add a big bow, but I did not have time before leaving!



If you do not collect pins, you may want it for other uses. If you have brooches, buttons, or other types of pins you can place them in there. I can't think of any more, do you have any ideas?

I went to San Francisco to celebrate my boyfriend's Birthday. It was a pretty late celebration though. We walked around Japantown and  had dinner at Pier 39. The day started out pretty nice and sunny, but the clouds rolled in. We ended up eating at Neptune's Waterfront Grill & Bar. They gave us a seat by the window and it had an amazing view! The restaurant had very dim lighting, so we had to use flash and the pictures didn't turn out that great, but here's what we ate.

Closet Cleaning

So, it's been a while. I did say I would be gone for a week and a half for my so-cal trip, but I totally hadn't accounted for my closet cleaning. I dis have that planned for after my trip, so I should have known. I have been back reading your wonderful blogs, but had yet to make a post. I haven't prepared a Disneyland post yet, but here's what's been happening with my closet cleaning.

So, it's my family's walk in closet and I have my own little section in it. First we had to take everything out and organize it to see what we're keeping and what were throwing out. Then it turned out that we had some mildew on the walls behind where we had placed drawers. Those ended up blocking the ventilation. Also, since they were the walls sharing the exterior side they were always colder and encouraged moisture. We used a bleech/water solution to clean it off. It wasn't too hard actually. We wore gloves and masks to protect ourselves and made sure there was plenty of ventilation. After completely removing the mildew and letting it dry completely, we decided to paint it Ultra-Pure White. We also made sure to use a mildew resistant paint. So here's how it turned out!

There's the before picture of the corner with some little spots if you can see them (I may have brightened the picture too much, sorry) and the after is just so much brighter! And my sister's bear has also returned to that top shelf. I didn't wear gloves for the painting process, so I got paint all over my hands. That picture is when I already removed the paint from my hands and the rest was still stuck on my nails.
So, after letting the paint dry for 24 hours, we began returning our clothes into the closet. I was trying to decide how to organize the clothes in my section and am deciding between two options.
The first is by type (skirts, cardigans, dresses, blouses, etc.) and color within type.

Pretty Perfumes: Victoria's Secret Gorgeous


Yay! I was actually able to finish this post before leaving! So, here's another one from the Victoria's Secret Sampler Set called Gorgeous.

Here's what the Website says about it:
Show-stopping beauty. Effortless glamour. Made to be noticed. Gorgeous! Irresistible strawberry, sheer jasmine and tempting sandalwood. Domestic. 

So, I've received mixed feelings about this fragrance. Some loved it and some hated it. I personally only liked it. It didn't smell bad, but I didn't like it that much. Someone did comment that it smelt too old for me at first spray, but liked it better once the scent sank in. The scent only lasted a few hours, so it wasn't very lasting. I wouldn't purchase it, but you can always try for yourself in stores.

This particular fragrance is on super sale because of the Semi-Annual Sale. It is about $20 for the actual perfume.

Men in Black 3

I'd feel horrible for leaving so suddenly without leaving a better blog post than an update. Here's one last one before my trip!

So, do you recall me mentioning that I was going to a screening for Men in Black 3? Anyways, I said that I was going to wear a suit if I could since I had a final right before the screening. So... I couldn't find/iron my suit before class because I took too much time to study (it paid off though, so yay!) and so I didn't get to wear a suit. Instead, just plain old jeans and a purple top. My wonderful boyfriend did wear a suit though and he made his own neuralizer! Here he is at the theater in front of the large banner. Right before he neuralized me, I was able to take a picture! I almost forgot this happened if it wasn't for the picture! Haha!

If you haven't seen the movie yet, I would totally recommend it. I really enjoyed watching it. The whole time traveling thing is really interesting and I liked the decade they traveled to. The movie even made me cry! I am pretty easily moved though, so I don't know if any of you would cry too!

Well, TODAY is my awesome boyfriend's birthday and I would like to wish him a SUPER DUPER HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
