Cartoon Art Museum

I know, I know, it's been so long since I posted. I'm a horrible blogger! Wahh! I'm trying my best, but school keeps me so busy! Anyways..
I went to the Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco this past Saturday the 16th with a friend. It was free because they were doing a G.I. Joe movie promotion. They had cosplayers around the building and they were also giving movie passes. I'm not sure if there was any thing else for it because I was too shy to ask. I don't actually follow G.I. Joe, but I still wanted to get a picture. If anyone knows what characters they're cosplaying and tells me, then you are awesome.
The museum was pretty cool. I wasn't actually sure what type of art I would see there. I didn't really know any of the artists and most of the art was unrecognizable to me, but It all still looked so awesome!! I learned that comics started in 1906 and I read a really old comic from 1913. I thought that was really cool. The back room had a lot of Looney Tunes, so that's really what I recognized. My friend pointed out that someone illustrated a poem called Owl and Pussy (correct me if I'm wrong please) and I read it aloud. Tee hee.
Anyways, here's our picture. I'm on the furthest left if you couldn't tell. I am wearing a Captain America shield sweater (from men's section of Target) and my new hat I got from a Goorin Brothers trunk show/sample sale. Only $10! Sorry, had to plug that in. I will definitely share the info here if I hear about it soon enough.

Here's to 2013!

Hello to the new year! Although it's already the 9th day of it, I have yet to really sit down and think about my resolutions. This isn't something I have been doing for many years, or even regularly the past few. Okay, fine. I've only done it like once.
I usually go through the year thinking about improvements I need to make about myself and see what I can do about it then. I never really thought of the new year being like a clean slate. I really just liked celebrating. New Years with my family has just always been the best holiday celebration! Anyways, going through the year randomly thinking hasn't completely helped, so I thought I would give this New Year's resolution thing a go. Writing it down (and especially publicly) may just keep me on the path!

  • Start a real skin regime
    I am really lucky to have the skin I do because I don't break out often, my skin is pretty smooth, and I don't have too much redness all while not washing my face everyday and not always washing off my make up. Some days I just get lazy, but after more breakouts than normal this past 2012 and having stared at my blackheads and huge pores, I really want to do something about it.
    I don't actually know where to start, so if any of you out there have any tips for me, they shall be greatly welcome!
  • Become an "Early to bed and early to rise[r]"
    Okay, so I'm not on a good start with this (and haven't been for these 9 days). Proof being the time that I am posting this. I think all the stress and lack of sleep have been a big factor to my 2012 break outs, so I want to change that. Plus, I think it's better for my health. Which brings me to...
  • Have a healthier lifestyle
    I want to start scheduling myself to exercise so that I will actually do it. I want to start eating smaller portions, more fruits, and vegetables. I want to start cooking myself instead of going out to eat all the time. Health is very important and I really want to start feeling more energized instead of tired and sluggish all the time. I think that it is because of my current college lifestyle.
  • Be better at keeping track of my finances
    I need to start budgeting, not just spending until I have barely anything for the month and then starving until the next. Okay, I haven't been starving, but I tend to buy unnecessary things at the beginning of the month and end up eating canned/frozen foods until the end of the month which is not healthy.
  • Be a better girlfriend
    I am so lucky to have my boyfriend because I don't think I could have survived 2012 the way I did without him. I really depend on him for a lot and tended to push all my frustrations and stress on him. He still stuck with me though. I really want to stop pushing my negativity on him and find healthier alternatives. That is my number 1 goal with this, but I also want to allot more time together and cook real meals for him.
  • Be a better daughter
    I am extremely lucky to have my parents. I really owe them a lot. I want to start helping around more often such as doing more chores, but I also want to help financially so I need to get a part-time job this semester. I want to strike up real quality conversations as well so that we can really get to know each other better. 
  • Be a better officer for League of Filipino Students
    It is the organization I am an officer for at SFSU. I need to get on my A game for fundraising and to be better at reaching deadlines. Other than those duties, I really want to get involved as much as possible and to learn as much as I can. I want to really get to know everyone in the organization as well. And last, but not least...
  • Be a better blogger
    As you all can see, I do not update often. I make lists of ideas and things to blog about and never pull through.

This is also the year that I want to open up my Calamari Designs shop! After thinking about it passively for years, I will really do it this year!

Currently Watching: The Walking Dead/Doctor Who

My oh my, who is full? I hope you had a great Thanksgiving or Thursday. I am actually hungry right now.
Anyways, with my Friday off of school and no plans for Black Friday shopping, I decided to catch up on a lot of watching.  All while working on an essay (side note: why is it that when breaks roll around, teachers assume you have all the free time in the world now and assign more work?) I have actually been watching a lot since last I posted my Currently Watching page, but today Friday was just The Walking Dead and Doctor Who.
Well here's the update:
  • Doctor Who
    • Specials  Finally watched Planet of the Dead
    • Series 5   added 10,11,12,13 meaning 13/13!
    • Series 6   14/14
    • Series 7     1,2, half of 3, and 5 --> Angels Take Manhattan was actually my first episode >.<
  • Gossip Girl
    • Season 5 added 12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24 meaning 24/24!
    • Season 6  1,2,3
  • The Walking Dead
    • Season 2 Rewatched half, then watched the last 3 episodes where I had left off, so 13/13!
    • Season 3 Skipped the first 2 episodes because they weren't on demand, so 3,4,5,6
      All caught up! I will watch those first 2 eventually...
Commentary:
  • Doctor Who
    • It is a really good series. I am somehow still not loving the 11th Doctor. The episodes with him seem a lot darker and I think I'm too scared maybe. I thought I'd get used to him like I did the 10th, but it still hasn't sunk in. I know they say that you never forget your first Doctor and although my first episode was with the 11th, I still consider the 9th my first. I miss him. His time was too short. 13 episodes is simply not enough. I did really really really enjoy the 10th Doctor though. The 10th Doctor was like the face of Doctor Who for me because of Tumblr though. I miss him a lot too. 
  • Glee
    • I am hearing awesome things about the latest episode. I need to catch up. But... sadly I'm getting kind of bored.
  • Gossip Girl
    • I really am getting quite bored, but I want to finish what I started. Haha. I started watching my first semester of college. I wonder if I will stop when I graduate.... Very soon, very soon... I hope it doesn't continue after I graduate. Is that bad of me?
  • The Walking Dead
    • Super want to watch the 1st two episodes of season 3!!! I spoiled everything for myself by reading, but it's fine because I still get surprised >.< Why am I like that?
I may start Sherlock very soon...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Because today is the 4th Thursday in November, I would like to wish all of you wonderful bloggers and blog readers a Happy Thanksgiving! If you do not celebrate Thanksgiving, well then a Happy Thursday to you!

Being thankful is always a good thing to be though, not just certain days in a year.

I don't mean to tell anyone how to live their life. I just wanted to have a space to write down my feelings, so I thank you for that!

I just want to remind myself here that I have so much to be thankful for. I have a loving family, good friends, and love in my life. I have a roof over my head, clothes on my back, and a soon to come Thanksgiving feast!
Life is precious and that is why our time on earth is precious, so I should be thankful each day I wake up and spend my days living life with love.
